My Book

Holistic health seems so easy to understand in theory, but sorting out the ways our emotional, mental, and spiritual health may be impacting us physically can feel like finding your way through an early morning fog: you have the desire, but no real direction or guidance to find your way out of that fog. It only becomes more difficult with age, as the general aches and pains that others complains about settle in. We expect that by age fifty we are going to start falling apart. The questions regarding health begin to pile up:

How can you tell the difference between aging and ill-health?
Why do I often have migraine headaches? How do I prevent osteoporosis?
How do I prevent colon disorders? How to keep a healthy heart?
What to do for eye health? How to prevent a stroke?

Patricia has both encouragement and practical wisdom to offer. Drawing on her thirty years of experience in the world of holistic health, her book, Aging Is Not An Option, How You Age Is, offers her personal experience and her years of expertise to deliver a work that is both insightful and inviting to assist in healthy aging.

Her book begins by sharing her personal health journey and illustrates how, even in our earliest days, our emotions can affect our physical health. She then proceeds with each chapter dedicated to outlining and illustrating each system of the body. She includes a list of common illnesses pertinent to each system as well as the mental/emotional and spiritual relationship with the body. By addressing the body and its health in this way, Patricia provides a pragmatic, approachable way to understand how our life affects our health—and vice versa.

Everyone ages, but not everyone ages the same. Our health plays a direct role in our quality of life, but that doesn’t mean we have to stumble and struggle on our own.
As Patricia herself says, “we, together, [can] find the courage to take our health into our own hands to find the peace, freedom, and restoration that only whole health can offer.”
